Dr James Wealleans

Dr. James Wealleans is originally from Christchurch, New Zealand, he is married and has 2 children.

Dr. Wealleans obtained his Doctor of Dental Medicine with honors from Nova Southeastern College of Dental Medicine, Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 2006 and completed an Advanced General Dentistry Residency in 2007 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

In 2010, Dr. Wealleans graduated Endodontic Residency from the prestigious University of Texas Health Science Center and Wilford Hall Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas.

Dr. Wealleans is an American Board-Certified Endodontist, an accomplishment that only 20% of the specialty obtain.

James served as the Director of Endodontic Residency Training and Education from 2013-2018 at Wilford Hall Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas. He has held teaching appointments as Associate Professor with Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and Assistant Professor with University of Texas Health Sciences, San Antonio, Texas.

Dr. Wealleans has authored over 12 published research papers and serves as a scientific advisor for the Journal of Endodontics. In 2017, James invented guided endodontic microsurgery, a revolutionary method for surgical applications, for which he holds two US patents. He lectures extensively both nationally and internationally.

In 2018, after serving 20 honorable years in the Air Force, Dr. Wealleans retired with the rank of Lt. Colonel. James relocated to Sydney and devotes his time practising endodontics at Dee Why and Gosford.
